Affirmation of Faith
We Affirm
We affirm one God Who is manifested in three persons. We affirm the Father
Almighty, Maker of Heaven and earth, Who created all things, both visible and invisible,
for His own glory and pleasure.
We affirm our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is one in substance with the Father,
by whom all things were made; who for us and for our salvation came down from Heaven;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin; Who lived a perfect
life; Who was crucified, died for our sins, and was buried; Who was raised bodily
on the third day according to the Scriptures; Who ascended into heaven; Who sits
at the Father’s right hand, having received all authority, and is Lord of
all; Who shall come again in glory to judge the living and the dead; and whose
kingdom shall never end.
We affirm the Holy Spirit, Who proceeded from the Father and the Son; Who
is equal with the Father and the Son; Who is the baptizer and filler, teacher and
comforter, indweller and uniter of God’s people, author and interpreter of
the Holy Scriptures, revealer of our Lord, and giver of all the things of God.
We affirm one universal church, which is the Body of Christ, and the uniting
of all people who have been chosen, called, and justified by God.
We affirm the Bible to be the inspired Word of God.
We affirm that all the will of God is included in these two commandments: “The
foremost is, ‘And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and
with all your soul, and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You
shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater
than these.” (Mark
12:30-31)
We Believe
God has revealed Himself as Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
The Bible is the infallible Word of God.
Jesus Christ is the Messiah, God the Son, our Savior; is virgin-born; is God in
the flesh; is the One sacrifice for sin, who provides atoning redemption for all;
literally rose from the grave, triumphant over sin and death.
Salvation is the new birth, which is of God the Father, through Christ, the Son
by the working of the Holy Spirit, not by man’s efforts.
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son; is the baptizer, indweller
and filler; is the comforter and leads into all truth; gives power for the Christian
life; reveals the Son; is the author and interpreter of the Holy Scriptures.
The need of believers is to bring forth fruit; is only accomplished through the
infilling of the Holy Spirit (Eph.
5:18; John
6:63; Gal.
5:22-23).
Jesus Christ will come again in person, bodily visible to rule as King of Kings
with the believers over all; that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess
Him.
